Makeup sessions

Peachy
This look is a very simple look which can also be used for daytime. It's not that intense where you would feel overexposed during daytime. However, it has enough sparks to wear to night time as well so its a pretty look for any hour of the day ;)

The products used for this peachy eye makeup look was the following
all the eyeshadows were from MakeupStore (MUS)
Eyeshadow dusts: Lounge
                      Hot
Microshadows: Bronze
Eyeliner: Click-it (by Oriflame)
Mascara: False Lash Telescopic (by L'Oréal Paris)

Makeup Bags, Cases or Boxes?

Makeup Storage can be tricky!

We all store our makeup in different manners, some like them on a desktop others in bags. Obviously this all depends on how much makeup you have. If you only use a few products you might just have them on a desktop (or bathroom sink!).

In our opinion, makeup bags are difficult too use if you have more than a few products, they get easily full and dirty ;/ Makeup cases feel too big for just one person, however, it's perfect for all you makeup artists out there!

We are going to share a favorite way to store our makeup!

A makeup box!

These makeup boxes are really  'craft' boxes! They can be found at craft stores, according to them it should be used to store different crafting tools ( scissors, glue, glitter, paper, paint brushes etc.) We immediately saw the box as  perfect makeup boxes!

You can fit big palettes, bushes, bottles in the bottom level and the other two levels can be used for single eye shadows, mascaras, makeup pencils, small scissor (for eyelashes!) makeup glue whatever you have! It is really easy to travel with these boxes. I (DY) have two boxes one for makeup products and the other for just makeup tools but start by getting one and see how it compliments your stuff!

If you are quite anal about neatness & like things in a logical order you have to get one of these!
Go to your nearest craft store and get one!

Wet n Wild

Day & Evening makeup all in ONE palette!

Wet n Wild Vanity palette is amazing! It consists of six eye shadows (different shades of beige, gold and brown). The eye shadows to the left side of the palette are perfect for daytime makeup! The have a matte quality to them which is perfect for a day to day look. The eye shadows to the right though...are perfect for evening makeup! they are more shimmering =)

It truly is a 2 in 1 eye shadow palette!
Have fun with it =)

How often do you wash your makeup brushes?

Clean Brushes are a must!
Until self cleaning make up brushes are invented we have to unfortunately clean our own brushes.
How often should you clean your brushes?
It all depends on how often the brushes are used. If you use a brush every day you should make it your business to clean that brush once a week! You will be surprised how much makeup (and much more) is trapped in makeup brushes that have only been used for one week.

There are quite a few products out there which you are prompted to use but there is no need! All you will need to clean your brushes are two bowls, a liquid soap and of course water. The choice of liquid soap is crucial make sure to use one that is very gentle to the skin ( then it will be gentle to the brushes too). If you want to use shampoo that's fine ;)

Start by filling both bowls with a cup of luke warm water (each) and add half a teaspoon of liquid soap  in one of the bowls.
Drop the brushes that needs to be cleansed into the bowl with water & liquid soap. Move the brush around in the bowl in order for all the trapped make up in the brush can dissolve in the soapy water.
After one minute (or so) squeeze out all the water in the brushes and drop them into the second bowl (with only water).  Move them around once again. The purpose of this part of the cleansing process is so that the brushes are no longer soaked in soap.
When all soap has been removed from the brushes let them rest on a clean towel over the night so that they can dry out.

The water in the bowl to the left has just cleansed the brush and bowl to the right is just plain water!

How-to-get-the-look Academy Awards 2012

Tis the season! Award shows are on full gear! We just did a how-to-get-the-look Grammy's edition and now it's time for the best awards show in the entertainment business The Oscars™. It only comes by once a year, as soon as the show is over everyone anticipates next year's show! There were so many beautiful ladies (and gorgeous gentlemen ;)

This year  one caught our extra attention with her stunning dress but most of all her stunning makeup! Off course we are talking about Jennifer Lopez in her AMAZING Zuhair Murad gown!
Image via Getty Images

From a distance she looked amazing, whenever there was a close-up you could see that she was even more flawless. The choice of color with this gown was just a stroke of genius by who-ever-is-doing-JLO's- makeup!
Base

As usual, Jennifer Lopez has preferred a more shimmering base makeup. Start off by using good day cream, No 7 Moisture Quench  from Boots is a fragrant free day cream which is absorbed in seconds! A great products which goes to proof that a budget product does not mean low quality ;) A foundation that gives a full coverage and has little shimmer (but just enough to give you the JLO glow!) is Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation from  M.A.C. The foundation in the picture is NC25 which is in the same tone color region as Jennifer Lopez has. If that is not your color M.A.C always have a range colors for everyone, no worries ;) Finish off the base makeup with a shimmering blush with pink pigmentation with an ounce of  bronze color. Mineralize Blush from M.A.C. Warm soul is perfect for this look just make sure that you use a small amount!
Eyes

Jennifer Lopez is a fan of the earthy tones. Brown, beige, gold are colors that she seems to prefer. This time is no exception. Always start by using a good qualtiy eye primer, if there is something that is worthy spending an extra dime on it's this! M.A.C. has a great eye primer Paint Pot. The Paint Pot in the picture is Soft Ochre choose a Paint Pot that is close to your own skin tone.
As we can see in the close-up picture of Jennifer Lopez she has a shimmering light eyeshadow Wet n' Wild has an amazing eyeshadow pallet Vanity which has a shimmering light beige (champagne like color) make sure to apply the eyeshadow on the lid and up towards the eyebrows. In the hollow regions of your eyelids apply Make Up Store eyeshadow Kakaw. Because Kakaw is a dark brown eyeshadow it needs a light brown/gold eyeshadow (Wet n' Wild Vanity Palett) to ease the contours.
H&M'Chocolate eyeliner pen is a easy to handle pen which lasts longer than you would think! Draw a thin stroke of the brown pencil on the eyelid but also on the lower parts of the eye. You will need a white eyeliner (which Jennifer Lopez loves!) to draw just above the brown eyeliner at the end of the eye and on the under eye.
Choose Eyelashes that are natural look and not too dramatic. Ardell's #125 is perfect for this look.

Lips

Jennifer Lopez has chosen a pale beige/pink lipstick. Make Up Store has a lipstick which is a favorite among many called Baby or M.A.C. equivalent Creme d'Nude goes perfectly with this look!

Have fun with this look! Glam it up ;)

Finally the perfect spring lipstick!

We are seeing a lot of brands really going all in with  pink shades of lipstick. Isadora is not the exception! They have come out with their Jelly Kiss lipsticks! Today, I finally got my Isadora nr 54!!
Isadora's Jelly Kiss nr. 54 is a fun lipstick and very true to its collections name because it's really moist just like jelly! The lipstick is like a lip balm + gloss and the most important it has incredible pigmentation. The color is a bright pink but still a feeling of a frosty rose which is perfect for this late winter and early spring time of the year!  This shade of color is all over the place! Make sure to try it ASAP because you will get hooked!

How-to-get-the-look Grammys 2012

Adele Edition

Adele was not only shining at the Grammys because of the amount of shimmering Grammys she had in her arms! She had a classic old Hollywood makeup with carbon black eyelashes with a matte red lipstick and a non-existing blush she prefered a matte foundation instead which she pulls of gracefullly.
Base
Starting off by using a foundation that gives a full coverage and a matte look is a good start to getting Adele's Grammy look! Maybelline's Dream Sating Foundation has a mousse like quality that is easy to apply and gives a full coverage without looking greasy. No blush is needed for this look!
Eyes
As you can see (the image above) Adele has a very bright eyeshadow Too Faced's Romantic Eye palette has just the right colors to give you the right look! The eyeshadow Soulmates is a bright beige color with very little shimmer but enough to make a difference ;) Apply Soulmates on the entire eyelid and apply eyeshadow Cut the Cake very gently on the hollow regions of your eyelids, but a very small amount of Cut the Cake otherwise you will look like lavender ghost!
Adele is a huge fan of dark liquid eyeliner and that is exactly what you need for this look! A carbon black eyeliner and mascara is perfect ;) Estéer Lauder Double Wear Liquid Eyeliner and L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara.
To finish off the eye look is a pair of eyelashes from Ardell's (our favourite eyelash brand!). For this look #101 is just perfect! Do not use these eyelashed if you want a natural look, these eyelashes are anything but natural looking! They are dark, think and long = very dramatic!
Lips
Finish off the entire look with a matte red lipstic of your choice! M.A.C red is a classic and a natural choice for us to give this look a last push!
